2014 End of Season News

On behalf of the North Jr. Knights Board, I want to thank our NJK families for yet another great season. While our inaugural season was amazing, 2014 is proving to be even better!   We recognize our program is only as strong as the families supporting it and thank you for all you do. We are truly grateful and encourage you to invite other area families looking to enjoy a positive youth football and cheerleading experience to join us next season!

2014 has brought tremendous growth and significant improvements for the Jr. Knights. Here are just a few things we've accomplished:
  • 20%+ growth in helmet count for tackle football and added a 4th flag football team
  • Doubled our cheerleading headcount, growing from 1 squad to 3
  • Recruited additional new coaches and helped strengthen fundamental skills
  • Made significant investments in training equipment, gym time, and facilities
  • Partnered with neighboring programs to expand a flag football league, enhancing the experience for our young flaggers
  • Developed stronger lines of communication with other community and school programs to share ideas and expand our program’s offerings
While our interest in building these inter-program relationships has been warmly welcomed by most organizations, we have learned one neighboring organization has seriously misconstrued and misrepresented our goal.  Despite their rumors, once again, the North Jr. Knights Football and Cheer program is extremely strong and has NO plans to fold or merge.  We believe this was simply an attempt to disrupt our focus as we prepare to advance our student athletes through playoff games and competitions.
Although 2014 is not quite over, the Board has already started planning activities for the 2015 season.  We will be having our first election for the NJK Board in December, we will be announcing details of the eagerly anticipated “CandleKNIGHT Bowl”, and believe it or not... information on the 2015 Spring Flag Football and 7-on-7 seasons will soon be available!
Should you have any questions, I encourage you to reach out to me or any of the other Board members.  Thank you again for your ongoing support and Good Luck to everyone at all our post-season competitions and games!

We hope you enjoy the rest of the season & Go Jr. Knights!
